Do you get the feeling of being worried, afraid, or uneasy, whether it’s about yourself or a loved one? Anxiety can influence every part of life, transforming even the simplest tasks into daunting challenges.

At Buckeye Recovery Network, we know just how hard anxiety can be. Our staff is here to provide personalized care and effective treatment strategies to help you regain control in your life again.

What Is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a natural stress response, often characterized by feelings of worry or fear. While occasional anxiety is normal, excessive and prolonged anxiety may indicate a disorder is being developed.

It ranks among the most common mental health disorders globally and can interrupt your ability to function in life, relationships, and well-being.

Common Symptoms

Symptoms vary, but they often include:

  • Persistent worry or fear.
  • Restlessness or feeling on edge.
  • Difficulty concentrating.
  • Rapid heartbeat or breathing.
  • Sweating or trembling.
  • Avoidance of situations that trigger anxiety.

These symptoms can vary in intensity from mild to severe and may co-occur with other conditions, including depression or substance use disorders.

What Causes Anxiety?

It can stem from a variety of factors, including:

  • Genetics: A family history of anxiety may increase susceptibility.
  • Environment: Traumatic life events can contribute to anxiety.
  • Brain Chemistry: Imbalances in neurotransmitters like serotonin or dopamine can play a role.
  • Co-Occurring Disorders: Conditions such as addiction or depression often overlap with anxiety, requiring comprehensive treatment.

How Is Anxiety Treated?

At Buckeye Recovery Network, we employ a mix of evidence-based therapies and holistic strategies to tackle anxiety. Our therapeutic approaches consist of:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT is a proven and supportive way to help individuals identify and transform unhelpful thinking patterns. This compassionate approach can ease anxiety symptoms and nurture emotional resilience, helping you feel stronger and more at ease.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

DBT focuses on fostering mindfulness, enhancing emotional regulation, and building coping skills, which makes it a wonderful option for those navigating multiple challenges.

Medication Management

For many people, medications like antidepressants or anti-anxiety pills can be a valuable tool in soothing symptoms and enhancing well-being. Our caring medical team collaborates with you to find the most suitable path forward together.

Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques

Activities such as meditation, yoga, and deep breathing exercises create wonderful opportunities for relaxation and are fantastic tools for helping clients cope with stress in a meaningful way.

Holistic Care

We’re all about embracing the whole person—your mind, body, and spirit. Our caring programs feature nutritional guidance, physical wellness activities, and inspiring creative therapies to help you feel your best overall.

Disorders

Many people dealing with anxiety often find that it goes hand in hand with substance use disorders. This can lead to addictive behaviors that might worsen anxiety symptoms over time.

Anxiety treatment in dual diagnosis, in combination with substance use disorder treatment, ensures long-lasting recovery for patients.

Why Seeking Professional Help Is Crucial

If left untreated, anxiety can escalate, leading to significant impacts on mental and physical health. Seeking professional support can:

  • Provide clarity and understanding about the condition.
  • Equip people with effective coping mechanisms.
  • Prevent the development of more severe mental health challenges.
